The Game thinks he belongs on the list of top 50 rappers.
In 2019, many artists and industry figures, from TI to Hot 97’s Ebro Darden, shared their personal views on the 50 greatest rappers of all time. Lil Durk even released his own list. Now, nearly two and a half years later, Game is challenging being left off the rosters of Ebro, TI, and DJ Funkmaster Flex.
“@oldmanebro @funkflex & @troubleman31……I haven’t forgotten those lists,” he wrote yesterday (January 24). “#DRILLMATIC is coming soon…. HURRICANE GAME LIVES. Y’all should throw my baby mamas in there too!!!!”
All three lists contain many of the same prerequisite names when considering hip-hop’s biggest names, such as The Notorious BIG, Tupac Shakur, Jay-Z, Eminem and others. But even modern names like Meek Mill, Big Sean, Young Thug and ASAP Rocky have been listed before Game in some cases. You can see the three listings and Game’s post at the bottom of this story.
The Game has never been shy about discussing rapper rankings. Last year he offered his list of the 10 greatest living rappers, in which he included Jay-Z, Nas, Lil Wayne and others, but also added that he could go “bar for bar” with n’ anyone on his list. Also, a few months prior, he claimed he was the best rapper in Compton and was the one who showed Kendrick Lamar the ropes.
Game is currently enjoying success with their new single “Eazy” featuring Kanye West. The track, which dropped on Saturday January 15, debuted at No. 49 on BillboardThe Hot 100 chart. This marked Game’s highest charting song since “My Life” featuring Lil Wayne in 2008.
His new album Drillmatic is expected to decline later this year.
