Greek make-up artist Gregoris Pyrpylis appointed artistic director of Hermès Beauty


PARIS — Greek make-up artist Gregoris Pyrpylis has been named creative director of Hermès Beauté and “will lead the development of the French luxury house’s beauty division,” Business of Fashion (BoF) reported on Jan. 25.

Pyrpylis “will report to Agnès de Villers, president of Perfume & Beauty and will work under the supervision of Pierre-Alexis Dumas, artistic director of Hermès”, BoF reported.

“We take a cross-sectional perspective to create objects for Hermès beauty,” said de Villers, reported BoF, adding that “as an expert in colors, textures and gestures that express and elevate beauty, talent de Gregoris will be a driving force for Hermès. Beauty.”

“It is clear to me that through the profession of beauty, Hermès seeks to offer its community an experience, a journey, during which each personality can express itself, each form of beauty revealed,” said Pyrpylis, reports WWD.

Pyrpylis “started as a makeup artist in Greece in 2006 with MAC, Fashion Network reported, adding that “in 2015 he worked at the Bioderma laboratory, becoming the first makeup artist in the world to represent a skincare brand” and ” In 2018, he was named Shiseido’s brand ambassador in Europe.

Hermès “launched cosmetics in March 2020, adding lipstick, then powders and nail polish to its fragrance lineup,” BoF reported.
